
Gary Payton II was born on December 1, 1992. He is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Golden State Warrior of the National Basketball Association ( NBA ).
As a junior and senior playing college basketball for the Oregon State Beavers, Payton was named first-team All-Pac-12 as well as Pac-12 Defensive Players of the Year.
He earned an NBA Championship with the Warriors in 2022.
He is the son of Hall of Famer Gary Payton. He is sometimes called “Young Glove” in reference to his Dad’s “The Mitten”, but he prefers Young Glove.
Career History
He started his career in 2016-2017 playing for Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In 2017 he left for Milwaukee Bucks, in the same year he was transferred to Wisconsin Herd.
In 2018, he played for Los Angeles, he later transferred to South Bay Lakers. In the same year, he played Rio Grande Valley Vipers, he joined the team till 2019, in the same year he joined Washington Wizards, in the same year he moved to Capital City Go-Go.
He moved back to Rio Valley the same year, he transferred to Washington Wizards in the 2019/20 season. In 2020 he played for Raptors 905 and joined the Golden State Warriors in 2021.
